Steven J. Scott, who joined Company 3 at the start of 2019, has been an industry-leading finishing artist/colorist for two decades. He brings to his extensive background in color, VFX and classical fine arts training to everything he works on. The multiple-HPA, Emmy and Lumiere Award-winning artist has recently brought his unique artistic sensibility and extensive technical expertise to such major projects as Jon Favreau-directed The Lion King and MCU-based Avengers: Endgame. In fact, he has been the go-to finishing artist for some 20 Marvel features. He also served as supervising finishing artist on Star Wars-themed The Mandalorian.
Prior to coming aboard at Company 3, Scott provided color and finishing work for Technicolor on an astounding number of award-winning, critically praised and box office powerhouses, including Alfonso Cuarón-directed Roma and Gravity, Alejandro Iñárritu features, The Revenant and Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). Before that, he brought his unique talent and approach to many features at EFILM, where he transitioned in the earliest days of the “digital intermediate” from a highly-successful tenure as a lead VFX artist. Those include The Help, Tree of Life, Children of Men, Iron Man, Hairspray, Finding Neverland, and many more. Scott is a genuine pioneer of digital motion picture finishing.
